Obituary of Eric Allan Vanetti
Eric Allan Vanetti (1943 – 2025) has finally been reunited with the love of his life Dianne (predeceased 2016) after 6+ years of living with Alzheimer’s. He was predeceased by son Allan, niece Charlene, sister Judy and parents Ettore and Rowena (Swain).
He is survived by daughters Patricia and Lori (Jason), son Blair (Lianne), grandchildren Grace, Shelby, Megan and Cheyenne and extended family Rita, Colette, Gary (Cheryl), Wayne, Gail (Dave), and Lisa (Rivlyn).
Eric was raised in Dominion, Nova Scotia. He married Dianne and they raised 4 children together with love and laughter. Eric worked many years as a truck driver and after an early retirement he focused on his life-time passion for classic cars. He was a member of the Centennial Street Rodders for 25+ years. Patricia and Lori would like to thank the Centennial Street Rodders for bringing their classic cars to Wellbrook Place back in July for a mini cruise day for Eric and the residents.
Eric’s daughters would like to acknowledge the staff at Wellbrook Place West Long Term Care Home and The Alzheimer’s Societies of Toronto and Peel for their support and care of both Eric and the family through his journey with Alzheimer’s.
Eric will be missed for a sense of humour that was on display right up until his last days.
Cremation has taken place and an immediate family only Interment and blessing for Eric and Dianne will take place at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery next spring.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to your local Alzheimer’s Society by using the link in the Donations tab of his home page.
Please take a moment to share in your memories, photos and sentiments here at his memorial legacy page.
