My deepest condolences to all of Akeem’s family and friends. I found out yesterday from a friend that Akeem passed away. I along with my friend Malathia, who informed of his passing yesterday, worked with Akeem at Circuit City. Akeem left an indelible mark on my life. He made coming to work enjoyable. Akeem had such an infectious and lovable spirit. It hurts my heart to know that he’s gone. Akeem, I pray your spirit is at peace. Your memory will live on forever.

I will always remember working with Akeem at The City. He was the most fashionable and funny guy there. Everyone loved Akeem, he could always brighten your day even when you weren't feeling the best. Even though we lost contact after it closed, I was always happy to hear he was doing well with this fashion line. I was sure I would see celebs wearing his designs one day. He will be greatly missed. I only got to know him for a few short years, but he made a impression that I will never forget. Rest in Power King.

Akeem. I didn't get the pleasure of meeting you, however I am colleagues with your sister Sioban. I know her to be a sincere and true spirit and know you had to be the same. Praying that during this time of bereavement the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and our minds. Growing up, we always had a special bond. I looked forward to our weekends because when we got together it was nothing but laughs. We went from laughing at everything together as kids, to sitting up wee hours of the morning together, the whole house sleeping and we're up talking about life as adults. I'll miss the laughs. I'll miss the talks. I'll miss the jokes. Most of all, I'll miss your presence. I love you Cousin.

Akeem is missed here in Trinidad by my Mom Marjorie Lezama and I. Angela and her kids were a huge part of my family growing up and even though I didn't get a chance to see Akeem as an adult, I followed him on social media and was always impressed and encouraged by his art. I remember a sweet kid, with those wonderful eyes, and I know that while we may think he is gone to soon, I know his sisters are strong women and I know Angela will be comforted to be in the company of one of her kids. May his soul rest in peace.
