Obituary of Carol Hartley

Carol Anne Hartley passed away in her sleep Thursday, December 8th, 2016 at the youthful age of 48 after a valiant fight against cancer. She was born a loving daughter to Stewart and Gloria; a caring sister to Colleen, Debbie, and Roy; a phenomenal wife to Michael Fitzsimmons; and an outstanding mother to Samantha and Ashley. She was always loved by those who met and interacted with her, except all the manufacturers she hounded relentlessly for coupons. Carol enjoyed being outside, spending time with friends and family (regardless of how inappropriate the latter may get), and ensuring everyone was taken care of; this often meant supplying them with shampoo, chips, and snack cakes in obscenely large quantities. She was an exceptional woman with a heart of gold who always pushed for the best for those around her. She was truly one of a kind and cannot be replaced. Even though she will be dearly missed she will never be forgotten. She will always live on in the memories and hearts of all of those who were touched by her. Carol isn't really leaving us. Instead, she's just making sure she's got a better vantage point to watch over everyone she held dear. We invite you to celebrate Carol's life with us on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the 'eco Life Celebration Centre' - Sanctuary of St. John the Baptist Norway (470 Woodbine Avenue at Kingston Road. Please enter off of Woodbine). Visiting will take place 1 hour prior at the same location from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Cremation will follow with interment to take place on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens (2700 Kingston Road).
