Obituary of Marie Mildred McLean
Marie Mildred McLean (Piché) passed away peacefully at her home on December 11th after a 5-year argument with Alzheimer’s. She was in her 97th year and was surrounded by her family. Marie was predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years, Donald McLean. She was the youngest of seven children born to Lea and Alonzo Piché. She will be deeply missed by her children Laurence (Elaine), Bill (Mary Ellen), Don (Marie), Suzanne; her eleven grandchildren, Shannon, Lauren, Conor, Amelia, Sarah, Heather, Amy, Adam, Don, Joan, Leah and three great grandchildren Abbi, Jack, Miles, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Marie grew up in Gogama, Sudbury and Montreal. She graduated as a registered nurse from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Sudbury in 1941. She married Don in 1949 in Montreal, moved to Vancouver and eventually they made their home and raised their family in Applewood Acres, Mississauga, where Marie lived for 50 years.
