What a beautiful and heartfelt homage to your mom, Lou. Although we spent some time with your mom, we mainly knew Minnie through your stories, but feel like we really got an opportunity to know who she was, and the life she lived, through "her story" and the beautiful slide show. You were such a loving and supportive son (and best friend) and we know you will miss her tremendously. We are here for you always and hope you continue to share more stories of Minnie with us!
Love Barb and Savio

Dear Lou:
What a lovely tribute to your Mom. We only met her once, late in life, when you invited us for Thankgiving dinner. Even though she had reached the forgetful stage she was a delight. You have been a wonderful loving son and a great advocate for your Mom during the last couple of years when she faced many challenges. This is a very sad time for you but in time with James support the happy memories will be what you remember most.
Thinking of you,
Hugh, Pat and Allison

Dear Lou, James, & Family:
As your next-door neighbours, we had the pleasure of getting to know Minnie over the last 10 years, during the many times she came to your home. We remember her as a cheerful, friendly woman, always with a smile and something positive to say. Each time we saw her, she always asked about our daughter, Kara, and also about our little dog, Ruby; even as she got more forgetful, Minnie always remembered that Kara and Ruby lived next door to Lou and James, and we thought it was lovely that she took such an interest in them.
Through the years we continued to admire the way Lou and James honoured Minnie with fine dining and a good time. Through our dining-room window we could see through to yours (or from our back deck to yours), with fancy place settings, good food, and Minnie having the time of her life, as everyone sat around the table for hours enjoying each other's company. We also remember Lou describing how he had made up a really comfortable bed for Minnie, with a luxurious duvet and pillows, so that she would be ultra-cozy. You guys treated Minnie like a queen, and she so clearly loved it.
All of this love you showed Minnie over the years is so beautifully reflected and returned to you by Minnie, as shown by the way she openly declared her love for both of you. On several occasions as we were chatting with her, she said, quite emphatically, "I love my son, and also James."
We are thankful we got to know this special lady. Our warmest wishes to both of you, and the rest of your family, as you transition to this new chapter of your own lives.
Sincerely,
Kirsten, Jim, & Kara

My very warm and heartfelt condolences on the passing of my dear Aunt Minnie.
Many were the times we would go to her home on Burnhamthorpe and she would always prepare a meal sufficient for 20 people when there were only 4 of us.
She was an extremely warm, loving and caring person and she loved her family and close friends as much as a human being can love others.
She will be sorely missed.
Again, my deepest sympathies from here in Boca Raton, Florida.
