Obituary of Kenneth William Landers
LANDERS, Kenneth William ‘Ken’-
Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga at the age of 92. Dear husband of Marjorie for 70 years and loving father of Margaret (Denis) Haley, Bill (Denise) and Dave (Debbie) Landers. Remembered by his grandchildren Michael (Kathleen), Glen (Jennifer), Karen (Alain), Sandy (Mathieu), Mark (Marcy) and Peter. Proud great-grandfather of Hunter, Charlie, Melissa, Alexandre, Tyler, Jesse and Mason. Brother of Gordon & Mary. Predeceased by his brothers Bob and Cliff. A navigator in the RCAF during WWII and a POW in Germany, Ken returned to his career at CNR for 39 years. Before retirement Ken enjoyed years of bowling and was a tenor soloist. He has since enjoyed 35 years of retirement and was an avid sports fan, following the Canadiens, Blue Jays and Tiger Woods.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Ken’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Magnolia Chapel of St. John’s Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium (737 Dundas St. E., Mississauga).
