Obituary of Patricia Elizabeth Bradley
Patricia Elizabeth Bradley (née Forster) May 11. 1932 - April 7, 2019.
Leaving us unexpectedly just shy of her 87th Birthday, "Pat", as she was known to all those who didn`t call her Mum or Granny, was born to Dorothy and John George Forster in Barrow-in-Furness, England in 1932. Her father died when she was 4 years old and her mother then married Gilbert Lawrence Stirling who became "Grandpop" to Sue, Rich, and Dave.
As a young girl, Mum loved to ride and she did that for many years both recreationally and competitively, one of her favourite horses, "Ping Pong", being with her for many years. Her love of animals always included dogs which she loved all her life. Her childhood dogs, Pitch and Nugget, were eventually replaced by Kim, our first dog, and the list continued until the end.
She was a registered nurse in England, working in ER surgery and then, one day, met her beloved "Ernie" at a dance at the Huddersfield Town Hall. Her life changed forever at that moment. They married and had a young family on Hall Bower Lane near Castle Hill and then Ernie was asked to move to Canada to start his U.K.-based company there. That company went on to be incredibly successful. Mum, however, was saddened to leave her parents, sister and other family behind but knew that Canada would provide a better life for her young family.
Canada became home and she dedicated her life to her husband and her kids.
She loved her family vacations back to England and then to another family treasure, Ogunquit, Maine, which will continue to provide a family legacy for years to come and still allowed her to get her breath of that fresh sea air. She loved that so.
She made so many memories with us in all our childhood homes, each needing to have that park nearby for her walks with her dogs.
Her last real home was in Tillsonburg, Ontario where she spent over 20 happy years with Ernie before moving to Mississauga in 2014 to be closer to her kids and grandkids.
She dearly loved her kids, Sue Rich, and Dave, her daughter-in-law Karen, daughter-in-law-to-be Lacey, grandkids Matthew, Sarah, Nicky, Mitchell, Christoper, Nicholas, Berkley, Elle, and her great grandkids, Avery and Alex. They will hold on to every memory.
Thank you Mum, Granny and Great Granny. We will forever cherish the memories and your never ending love.
