A beautiful and complicated human being with a big heart, I met Nicole when I interviewed her for one of the first features about trans people in Xtra many years ago, I was so impressed by her pose, intelligence and her generosity with me a stranger, when I worked at the 519 she made the work day sail along, I am so sad to hear of her passing, sending her loved ones my condolences "Let your spirit soar, Nicole".

So very sorry to hear this sad news. I remember working Sunday Drop-in with Nicole. A technology genius who saved my but when I had a software fail working on my thesis. I read the beautiful dedication and kept waiting for a note about feline. We talked about her cats and her band. RIP.

$42 dollars donated to the SOY. In the Hindu faith we always give an amount plus one for good luck. That's 21 from both Ravi and myself. Being the nerd she was, I'm sure she'd appreciate the number 42 as well.
I met Nicole when she started at our dojo. She was dedicated and meticulous, even as a junior belt. Wanted to make sure that every move was correct. And though she didn't stay for very long, she made a lasting impression on me. She and Janice lent Kiera and I some Blue Jays gear to go and cheer on the team when we visited Minneapolis, when they played against the Twins. We have a photo of us in those very shirts and it made a fond memory for us as well.
Nicole was always kind not only to me in my learning, but even more to my brother when he helped at the Gull and Firkin on trivia nights. She and Janice were never very good, they told me, at the name that tune part of the night. Have I got a guy for you! My brother is autistic and doesn't make friends or fit in easily. But boy is he good at that! The first time my brother joined the team, they ended up getting second place and even won a prize for the first time! They gave him the gift card. She truly made him feel welcome, for which I will always be grateful.

My deepest condolences goes out to all who knew and loved Nicole. I have many memories of her that I will cherish forever and am grateful to have met her. She was courageous, determined, adventurous, and a force to be reckoned with when she played paintball. Her spirit will live on in our memories.

My deepest condolences go out to those who knew and loved Nicole. I am so sad that I will not get a chance in the future to get to know her better. When I spent time with Nicole, I was struck by how kind she was and how good she was at drawing people out and making them comfortable. I was so happy that she and Janice had found each other. Nicole was a beautiful soul and it is clear that so much of her time was spent helping and teaching others important lessons such as love and acceptance. This a legacy that her friends, family, and cherished ones can continue in honour of her.
