I was both a student of Mr. Binmore’s at BHS and an employee. He paid well , he worked hard , he worked me hard and I deeply respected him. I did not know until now that he had passed and of course am terribly sad for his family. He was a good man, I really looked up to him. I recall an incident when a policeman took exception to his Ontario license plates while we were painting the McDonald’s parking lot on ST Charles in Beaconsfield. The cop started giving me a hard time and Mr. Binmore was over in flash, let me just say the cop very quickly had no issues… I recall when we picked up Buzz Hargrove who was canvassing in an industrial park, he shared my hatred of the CBC and communists. He was a real mensch and I am very fond of him.
The girls were very young but I babysat while I was painting the house in Hawkesbury. Strubbs pickels and Labatt 50 !
God bless all of you.
Sincerely,
Paul

I wish to extend my deepest condolences to Bob's family.
I worked with Bob for many years at BHS.
Bob was a great teacher. He was good humored in class and always upbeat.
We had a lot of fun with him at BHS.
Sincerely.

I remember Bob well from the time I took Geography with him back around 1970 at BHS. He was good humoured in class, always upbeat. I remember at the end of the year he showed me a card for his business he had just started in Hawkesbury. I can even picture the card now: it had the name of the company--something like Traffic Marking Consultants Inc--and he was listed as President. I was so impressed that I knew someone who actually owned his own company. My sympathies to his family.

I remember him as a great teacher and mentor, always giving more than he had to. BHS was a much better school as a result.

Bob has been a loyal and memorable friend since West Hill High School days, and acted as best man at our wedding.
As we moved about the country he kept us in touch with news of other friends and events of the day "back home".
As others have said, he was a great communicator and story-teller. Our sympathies and support are with Diane,
Julie, Jen, Kara and Julien. Be at peace dear friend.

I wish to extend my deepest condolences to Julie and her family as they grieve the loss of her Dad. We experienced the sudden loss of our Mom, a dedicated Grade 1 teacher for 38 years, on December 18 three years ago; this is an especially difficult time to have to bid goodbye to a dear loved one. In Robert's memory, I have made a donation to the Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund.

So sad to hear that Bob has passed away.
He was such a great storyteller. One of his best anecdotes involved him appearing on Morningside, and talking about how stamps were chosen.
His stories about parking lots and working as a bailiff could be the basis of a situation comedy.
His knowledge was broad. When we played Trivial Pursuit, you always knew who was going to win, particularly when it came to the History questions.
I remember the many chats we had over the years, solving the problems of the world.
His enthusiasm was infectious.
My condolences to the family.
