I only had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Banning a handful of times but even in those few talks I knew I was in the presence of a man that lived a life most of us only dream of. The experiences, the travels, the history of his life...they were enviable to be certain.
It was an honor indeed, and still is, to be associated with a man with such proud traditions, with such a rich and loving family. If only everyone could be so fortunate.
Lets remember him and not be sad but rather smile. Let it be a celebration of a long, full, happy life, for thats indeed what Mr. Banning had.
He will be missed not only by a loving family but by all who were lucky enough to hear his stories, and share his wit and wisdom. My thoughts and warmest regards go out to the Bannings and all who knew him.

Dear Banning Family,
Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Even though we had the pleasure of meeting Herman only a few times we were quite taken by him and his amazing stories. I am sure that your fond memories of him will bring you comfort. May you look back at the wonderful memories you have and smile at the fact he lived such a full and colorful life.

To All the Bannings
I am so grateful to have known Herman and shared in many happy gatherings with him and his family. Being in Herman's company was always a joy.
Herman's love for his family, his intellect, wit, musical talent, curiosity and interest in and about life were matched by his kindness and generosity of spirit - a gentle soul and blessing to all who had the good fortune to cross paths with Herman.
I know Herman will be dearly missed, but his light and love live on in all the lives he touched and especially so in all of you
Thank you Herman for the gift of you and all you gave to the world

Dear Ian, Ev, and David, it is an honour and pleasure to have known Herman. So many people passed through your door on Aldo, too many to remember. Our paths crossed a few times as I walked through that door during high school. Herman, you were always kind and greeted me with a smile. You left me with lasting memories from all those years ago. Thank you. May you Rest in Peace for all Eternity.

One of the most memorable times with your Father was a night where I drank a bottle of Gold Schlager over a long conversation of world events . At the end of the evening , while trying to get our winter boots on, we both had troubles with getting our feet into the proper boot.
It didn't matter to either of us , that perhaps we had our footwear on the wrong foot.
A warm hearted man who genuinely cared about each of us who came to visit.
So sad for your loss. May his SPARK for life , live within you all forever.
