Obituary of Helmut Borbe
It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Helmut Borbe, who went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2021.
Helmut was born on July 5, 1923 in Essen, Germany to the parents of August and Frieda Borbe. He had five siblings. Helmut’s father August was the founder of the bible school in Essen and was also a pastor. Helmut attended bible school in Germany where he met his future wife Esther Marie. They were married in Essen in 1951. Shortly thereafter Helmut and Esther immigrated to Toronto, Canada. Helmut worked for CCM for many years and also was a man of faith. He played the organ in the church and led the choir. He also did some interim pastoring.
Helmut was preceded in death by his wife Esther Marie. He is survived by his son Martin, daughter Rita along with her husband Marcello and his two grandchildren, Daniel and Joseph. Helmut will be missed by his family and friends. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, there will be a private ceremony, however a Live Stream of the Funeral Service will be made available for those wishing to attend virtually.
