Obituary of Regina Achankeng
Ma Regina Achankeng passed into the hands of the Lord on May 22, 2021, in Toronto, Canada. She was born in 1956 in Lebialem Division in the South West Region of Cameroon.
Ma Regina was a kind, jovial, gentle, and loving person who cherished spending time with her kids, many grandkids, and loved ones. She was a devoted Christain and spent endless hours praying for the wellbeing of family members and friends. Mama Regina was a soft-spoken and disciplined mother of six children. She was the matron of a humble and God-fearing family. She always taught her children the values of patience, peace, love, and kindness. A hardworking mother, she raised her kids with utmost resilience and devotion in the absence of her husband Pa Clement Lekeazem who had passed earlier leaving her to single-handedly tender for her young children.
In 2019, Mama Regina, beaming with excess love for her eight grandchildren, accepted to travel from Cameroon to Canada to care for two of them. She was excited to visit her son Agendia Lekeazem and daughter-in-law Mafua Fontem Atabong.
However, in 2020, the world was struck by Covid-19 and Mama Regina, being a very careful, clean, humble, organized, and devout Christain mother, peacefully settled to lockdown in prayers at home in Toronto and connect virtually with family and friends worldwide. Unfortunately, she became suddenly sick with Covid and was admitted to the North York General Hospital. A few days later Mama Regina died on May 22, 2021, at age 65.
Matriarch Regina leaves an irreplaceable gap in the family and community as a mentor-mother of humility and devotion.
