Dear Christopher,
We are so sorry for your loss.
How blessed you are to have had such a fine mother.
She loved you very much.....and how auspicious that she was here for your wedding last August.
Carolyn was special.....one of a kind.
Leonard and I are saddened by the news and could not help but be reminded of how deeply she was loved and adored by Grant and everyone else.
Sending love and every best wish.
Sandra and Leonard...,
♥️♥️

Carolyn was such an important part of St. Remy, the hybrid bilingual publisher. She was a mother for all of us and we all loved her so much. I feel very lucky to have crossed paths with Carolyn for such an important part of my life. She was a dear friend and mentor for emotional connection with fellow workers. I've dug through a few snapshots of this happy workplace and am posting them for all to realize how exciting and fun it was. Chris, please know that Véronique and I share your pain and sorrow for this incredible loss. She will be in my heart forever.

It is now a week since Chris's sad email found it's way to my inbox and I am still at a loss of words.
I've meet and worked with Carolyn at St.Remy Press, where she became a colleague, friend and a mentor of mine.
Even thought I worked in a different department (IT) at St. Remy, I, like everyone else, enjoyed very much the way she run St. Remy's publishing staff, the way she made sure we where more than just colleagues in a 9 to 5 job.
St. Remy was the time in my life where working was the most fun, and in no small part of her being there, being the mother of Chris who became a great friend, as so many of my colleagues became.
I wished I had the ability to write like Neale or Chris, but all I will say for now, Thank you Carolyn for the time we had together. Much love.
As well, all the very best to Chris and Maxine and I cherish the time I had with you both and with your mother and grandmother.

Carolyn was one of the great people in my life. She was my boss at St Remy when I was a fairly directionless young man and she infused in me the love of writing. That I have earned my living as a writer for 30+ years now is directly a result of my years at Remy. She was a teacher and mentor to many of us who began our careers at St Remy.
She didn't lead by being stern or brash or threatening. She led with compassion, patience, professionalism and an unfailing eye for detail. And, of course, the she had the greatest sense of humour. She was easy with her smile, even when projects got hairy. When I think of Carolyn the first thing that comes to mind is her wonderful, warm laugh, which was really just an extension of her wonderful, warm soul.
She was one of the pillars of St Remy, one of the people who made the magic happen. Without her, it wouldn't be the same place. She gave us the freedom to be young and stupid and loud and crude, all while teaching us how to find our respective voice and trust it. She taught us how to be professionals, albeit professionals who were a tad off kilter.
But even more than that, she was just the most wonderful, beautiful person. She was smart and funny and humble and she never hid her love for our motley crew. Carolyn made each one of us feel like we were special and that we were doing special things. And I do believe she was right. But all we did was follow her lead.
Thank you, Carolyn. All my love.

Rhiannon and I visited Carolyn in 1970 in Jamaica. This was one of the photos from a bubble-making entertainment.

Dear Coles and Jacksons, I was so sorry to see of Carolyn's death. In spite of her condition, it was nevertheless a shock to see her photo and see her name. I've often thought of her and Kathy in these pandemic times and hoped things weren't too hard during these difficult times. Love to you all, Wendy. XXX
