Obituary of Viola E. Deak

Viola Deak was born in 1931 and raised in Debrecen, Hungary, the daughter of Margit and Laszlo Varadi. Viola excelled at school in Debrecen and finished Business College in Hungary. Following her graduation, she worked in Debrecen as a business administrator. Viola Varadi and Ferenc Deak married in Debrecen during the early fifties. During the Hungarian Revolution in 1956, Viola and Ferenc Deak left Hungary and via Austria came to Canada in 1957 and lived at first in Kingston, Ontario. Later, in 1958, they moved to Toronto to pursue greater opportunities. Viola came to work at Holiday Children’s Wear Manufacturing on King Street and became the financial controller for the factory for many decades. Her husband Ferenc Deak passed away after fighting cancer in the 1970’s. Viola Deak started new life with Joe Barna in the early 1980’s, living happily together, enjoying travel and family until she passed away peacefully on March 5,2016 in Scarborough General Hospital. Her Husband, Joe, family, and friends will miss her every day and will love her forever. Please join us in celebrating her life on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at a funeral service to be held at St. John The Baptist (Dixie) Church, 719 Dundas St. East, Mississauga at 11 a.m., followed by burial at the churchyard cemetery. A reception will follow at the Oak Room of the cemetery property. Parking is available immediately beside the church in the lot provided.
