I know from the many hours that Colleen devoted to ensuring Kevin's welfare and the many reports and photos that she posted of their visits, that Kevin was valued and loved and will be sadly missed. Having lived with Kevin for many years I can attest he was a jovial soul who loved his family.
Kevin had his own language… words and phrases that I use to this day… Donalds, ccc coke, snake instead of steak and Chine instead of Chinese food. Food was a huge motivator for Mr Kelly. He had a beaming smile and loved to have his photo taken. Kevin always loved his workshops and being with family and friends, but when he was tired of everyone off he’d go to his room to listen to music or watch tv.
He loved his twin elder brothers Ed and Michael who were ‘Calo and Calo Mike. And his sister Colleen who took such good care of him after I’d moved to Thunder Bay.
Many of our family’s friends will also miss Kevin - he was a much liked resident on Lee Ave., sitting on the front veranda watching everyone go by. His loud and hearty “Hi” was a thing of beauty. We’ll all hope he’s in a happy place with all the burgers and diet cokes his heart desires.
