Although I'd not seen Lil for many years, memories of her are fresh in my mind. She was a loving sister to Shirl through her teens and helped her develop into the wonderful lady she became. Although protective, she gave Shirl the freedom to learn from experience and Shirl loved and respected her in return.
Lil had a beautiful smile and a warm personality to match. I always felt comfortable and relaxed around her. We spent many hours listing to records together as we had the same love for music.
Rest in peace my wonderful friend.

We are so sad to hear of Lil's passing. Lil was very kind and loving. When I was young, I would go to Toronto for a week in the summer and stay at Auntie Vera and Uncle Dougie's home. Lil would take Shirl and me out on the town. A few times, she even took us to the CNE and treated us to everything we could possibly want to have or do. I sure appreciated Lil's generosity. I will always remember Lil's beautiful smile and infectious laugh.

10 years can seem like a long time between friends, but not between Lil and myself. I remember giggling and laughing in the early eighties whilst Lil permed my hair. She did that many times for me. Her cooking skills, especially cabbage rolls, were second to none. All through the 80 and 90s we played cards every weekend…and always canasta. She was like a Nana to my kids, playing Tex the cowboy with them. Once she moved to Owen Sound to be with her brother, we had a long distance relationship but our friendship endured. Lillian was a good friend to me and my family.
You are gone but will never be forgotten.
