There are many others who will miss Suzanne’s smiles, seeing her at daily activities and her contagiously warm and gentle air kisses.
Suzanne was born at Queen Victoria Hospital in Montreal on October 3rd 1937. From the moment she took her first breath she faced extreme hardships. Suzanne was torn from her loving Mother's arms and placed into an orphanage at the hands of those in power during the "Great Darkness” claiming she would have a better life. We now know this was a great lie.
In spite of her traumatic childhood and early adolescence, Suzanne pushed forward to build a better life for herself.
She had moved from Montreal to Toronto in the late 50’s as a french speaking woman, she then learned to speak, read and write english on her own, as she was not afforded even the most basic education by her charges.
Suzanne entered her first marriage and started a family of her own. She was fiercely protective and always provided for her children. This was even more evident when she became a single-mother. She taught her children to be strong, responsible and self-reliant.
Suzanne was an activist for abused women, she offered inspirational strength to those who knew her.
Suzanne also was an activist for animals, and inspired her daughter Michelle to follow her heart and achieve a career in caring for all creatures great and small.
Suzanne enjoyed the outdoors, camping, walking, and exploring, meeting people from every walk of life and accepting people for who they were, inspiring her daughter Patricia to be an empathetic and caring person and mother.
Everyone who knew her, loved her, and that’s why her friendships were lifelong.
Suzanne loved music and she loved to dance. Her son Marcel, an accomplished musician shared the love of music with his Mom. This expression of freedom offers an escape to many who have had the opportunity to experience her sons talent.
Later in life, Suzanne became a trailblazer for senior’s, she and her daughter established many firsts in her senior living home benefitting residents in many ways.
Most of all, Suzanne loved her family. In 2018, Suzanne with the advocacy of her children, finally found her Mother, only too late to be able to reunite with her. On June 24th of 2022, Suzanne and her two younger Brothers, Robert and Paul were blessedly reunited.
The circle of her life will now be completed as she will be laid to rest at her mothers side.
Suzanne Lisette (La rose) Forsyth will be laid to rest and reunited with her precious Mother at Cimetiere Sainte Anne de Sorel, 580 Chemin du Chenal-du-Moine, Quebec J3P 1V9 on Friday, April 14, 2023.
