Obituary of Father Larry Whissell
In honour of a dear colleague to our team at eco Cremation & Burial Services Inc.
This tribute has been published with permission of the family.
"How long does a man live?"
This is a quote that has taken on a new meaning. Father Larry and I, as well as other members of our team at eco, have spent countless hours over the last 10 years mutually serving families in the GTA.
The image shown is very recent. Our beloved pet Kittieface came to greet him as she often would. I remember glancing at Larry while he was lounging, awaiting the arrival of a family. His gentle but gruff manner was something that Kittie was drawn to. In fact, many other animals and people were drawn to Larry. He had a gift for calming both people and animals.
On this particular day Kittieface came to the service and sat close to Father Larry. We noted it and took this photo. We tend to believe that Kittie knew this would be the last time we at eco would be in Father Larry's presence.
Father Larry was a constant to us on our team. Someone we could rely on and trust that he'd always 'do right by the families we're privileged to serve.'
We will miss him, as will the entire industry, and we will strive to continue to serve families in need the way that he did.
Rest well, Larry. You have earned your place in paradise for the light you've brought to many people’s darkness.
.
"With respect, we bid you farewell."
