Obituary of Rick C. Wall
Wall Frederick Charles (Rick) Jr.
April 14, 1955 – April 10, 2016
It is with incredible sadness we announce the sudden passing of a beloved son, brother, husband and uncle, Rick Wall. Rick passed away quietly on Sunday April 10th.
Rick was described as a big man with a big heart, big personality and will leave a big void in the lives he touched. He was stunning and larger than life and made so many wonderful things happen for his family, friends and colleagues.
Rick was born in New Westminster BC., the first born and only son of Fred and Dorothy Wall. Two years later his baby sister arrived. Dorothy and Fred were blessed with two children and the family was fondly known as “The 4 Walls.”
Rick did most of his growing up in Calgary and Prince George where he attended and graduated from PGSS and was also school President. After graduation he attended Prince George Community College for two years. He then left Prince George in 1976 to attend the University of British Columbia where he graduated with his degree in political science.
As a young entrepreneur he started his career in direct sales and with much success this valuable experience would lead him to his career path that followed. Rick took a position with Rogers Cable Advertising in Vancouver and through his persistence and hard work ethics, was soon promoted to senior management. During this time Rick continued his education. His love for studying and learning, he achieved his Masters degree in business administration. He continued to grow with the company and was offered the position of National Sales Manager for Rogers Broadcasting where his next chapter began by a move to Toronto Ontario. He spent the next few years with Rogers but his entrepreneurial spirits turned his focus to Real Estate. He took his business and marketing expertise and applied it, to become a successful Realtor. Not unlike Rick he was always willing to accept new challenges and after some years of success in Real Estate, he managed the Royal LePage Estate Realty office consisting of 80+ realtors while still staying active with his own sales.
Besides business, Rick was not without other passions. He married his beautiful wife, best friend and soul mate, Janice, in 2009. Together they lived life, travelled and were the most incredible host and hostess to both family and friends. Rick loved his golf and could be found on the course locally, with Janice or friends or on Golf holidays. Did somebody mention waterskiing? Rick was in, watch a good NFL game (favorite Buffalo Bills) you “bet”, a little fishing was always nice and his love for music playing, performing or just listening followed him for years.
We will always have beautiful memories of such a bigger than life man who's generosity, sense of humor, unconditional love and spirit for life will live on... We love you Rick and you will be missed but forever remain in our hearts. A light will always shine for you son, brother, uncle and husband.
Rick is predeceased by his Father, Frederick Charles Wall, and is survived and will be missed by his loving wife Janice Young, his Mother Dorothy Mae Wall, his sister Deanna Mae Harvey and his niece Danielle Mae Harvey.
