Obituary of Teresa Lau
We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Teresa Lau on May 9, 2019, at the age of 38 after a long illness. Teresa was born April 14, 1981 in Hong Kong, and moved to Toronto with her family when she was six. Teresa was a diligent student, and went on to receive an honours BA in English at the University of Toronto. Teresa was a serious reader, and often went well beyond her goal of 50 books a year. She was also a very talented photographer, and leaves behind a collection of 10,000’s of photographs that her family will cherish and keep with them forever.
Teresa is survived by her father, John (Dana), and predeceased by her mother, Maria. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of eight years and best friend, Robert Keshen, and her daughter, Sophie. She will be missed by her sister Joanna (Frank), niece Mia, father- and mother-in-law Marty and Elizabeth, and brother- and sister-in-law Michael and Jenn.
As per Teresa’s wishes, there will be no funeral or celebration of life. Her ashes will be spread into the ocean, and she asked we all remember her whenever we are on the water or standing on the shore watching the waves. Preferably with a glass of prosecco in hand. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Teresa’s name to Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto or the St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation. These donations may be made using the links on her memorial webpage homepage "Donations" tab.
Please share in memories, photos and sentiments of Teresa here at her memorial webpage.
