Mario Pinto

Obituary of Mario Pinto

Mario Aloysius Pinto

June 21st, 1950 – March 11th, 2021

After a courageous battle with colon cancer, Mario passed away peacefully with his loving wife Virginia of 49 years by his side.

He was the son of late Constantine & Celine Pinto, brother to Alwyn, Royston, Blaise, Norman & Nelson Pinto. His immediate family includes two daughters, Rhea Verhoven & Rebecca Pinto, as well as son in laws, Jason Verhoven, & Arvin Kamboj. He has 4 grandchildren who will also miss him immensely. Shanice & Amber Verhoven, & Alyssa & Deven Kamboj.

Mario was born in Bandra, India where he met His wife Virginia. Together they moved to beautiful, sunny Dubai where over the years he & his good friend Mani created & ran a successful line of hotel/resort business’. Many years later, he travelled to Toronto Canada, where he would eventually settle & hope to retire. Over the years, Mario made many good friends & cultivated lasting relationships wherever he went. Everyone who met him, liked him, especially his jokes, which he had many to share.

His love for animals was very apparent. He brought home many to care for over the years, from dogs to chickens, to fish & rabbits. As a young man he spent his time happily training homing pigeons among his other sporting activities/hobbies.

Mario was known as a quiet, compassionate man who genuinely loved his family & friends. He was a great listener & had the unique ability to listen to people with kindness & without judgement. He used this gift to help his friends & anyone who came to him with a concern. He spoke often & fondly of his many friends at the various companies he worked at over the years, the most recent where he worked diligently until his diagnosis, making many lasting friendships.

You will be missed greatly Papa Mario. We love you!
