MARGARET
I pray Thee, O Lord
to give me
a brush filled with
every colour and hue;
just a dab of black and white
to sharpen my perspective;
a little sun
to brighten the day;
and when the night seems darkest,
let me soar among the stars.
Then...I will paint the world,
as I see it,
from a loftier view.
